Call for Posters:  The American Health Care Congress invites you to tell others what your organization is doing to improve health care services—the healthcare system—in your community by preparing a poster and presenting it to the members of the Congress on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Ontario Convention Center.

Three presentations will be recognized as follows:

   First Place – $500 Award        Second Place – $250 Award       Third Place – $100.00 Award

Each entry will be presented a Certificate recognizing the organization’s contribution to the delivery of Health Care in the communities served.  Applications for Poster Presentations for the 2007 American Heath Care Congress must be submitted for prior approval.  The deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 PM, Thursday, September 27, 2007.  Applications may be submitted by mail to: LeRoy Wm. Nattress, Jr., Ph.D., P.O. Box 10245, San Bernardino, CA   92423 or by eMail to: nattress32@msn.com.  Notification of approval of your application will be given by eMail on Monday, October 1, 2007.  Questions regarding poster presentations should be directed to Dr. Nattress at (909) 645-6298.

 

The Weingart Foundation would like to alert you to these two upcoming opportunities.  Hispanics in Philanthropy, Three-Day Proposal Writing Workshop Scheduled for three Mondays: July 9th, July 16th, and July 23rd. This is a training opportunity offered designed to aid nonprofits in developing and completing a grant request that can be utilized for future fundraising. The workshop is open to Latino nonprofits in theSouthern California and has limited space. Flyer and registration materials are attached. Fee of $100, including meals. UCLA Nonprofit Leadership Program, Scheduled for June 22 and 23, this executive education program for nonprofit leaders is still accepting applications and contemplating another program in September. Responsibilities include promotion, planning and conducting instruction for a male health program within local high schools, alternative schools, and community sites, implementing curriculum that includes human development and sexuality, responsible parenthood, reproductive health, self-esteem, goal setting, and decision making skills. The VNA of the Inland Counties is searching for a Grants Manager to join our Development team, located in our Palm Desert office.  Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Manager is responsible for all aspects of grant procurement, including identification of grant funders, development, grant writing & ongoing relationships.  Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in marketing, communications or liberal arts; Bachelor Degree preferred.  Excellent oral & written communication skills including demonstrated grant & report writing skills.
